Amanda has been very active in creating pet foster and adoption from animal shelters awareness on social media. She has been educating me on a lot of the things we do wrong with our pets in daily habits, training and above all communication.
As some of you may already know, we have 6 pets already, two dogs, three cats and a bunny. All of which are rescues.
Amanda recently started volunteering at a local animal rescue center, Eastern Ontario Potcake Rescue. We decided we were going to help this organization by helping with fostering new dogs rescued from Jamaica. Amanda did all her research and we began preparing the house for a puppy. Amanda was eagerly monitoring the status of the foster puppy that was suggested.
The rescue puppy “Evie” arrived on the day that my Dad and I returned from a camping trip (Lake of Two Rivers, Algonquin Park).
We renamed Evie to Marley as we felt that name was fitting – Marley, the potcake rescue from Jamaica. We are foster-failures! We adopted Marley as she grew on us – how could she not!
Below are some photos of Marley, taken by the Easter Ontario Potcake Rescue – credit to Julie Hearty for the photos. Stay tuned for more stories to follow as Amanda and I learn what it is like to have a puppy rescue!
